In 1974, Arno Wildeman founded Tietex in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Arno had emigrated from the UK because he saw an opportunity to pioneer “stitchbond” nonwoven technology to North American markets. Proving to be a dynamic and determined innovator, he led the company to earn a worldwide reputation as a quality manufacturer and inventor of proprietary products and processes. Arno died in 1987, and ownership of the company was transferred to the next generation of the Wildeman family who remain committed to the vision of the company’s founder. The company took a giant step in 1997 when it completed construction and startup of its Asian manufacturing operations located in the export zone of Laem Chabang, Thailand’s largest seaport. Today, Arno Wildeman’s unbounded vision, innovative spirit and work ethic are still entrenched within our company culture. We remain family owned and vertically integrated, with two factory locations and over 600 employees on two continents.
